What is CBD +

CBD stands for cannabidiol, and is a cannabis compound with significant health promoting properties. It has been proven to alleviate inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures and spasms.

What are the differences between CBD and THC? +

Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC) are the two main cannabis compounds, and belong to a class of compounds known as cannabinoids. They both have medicinal value, but THC is the psychoactive compound found in cannabis and is responsible for getting people “high”. THC also remains illegal in the UK at this time. CBD is able to counteract the effects of THC intoxication, and may also have antipsychotic effects.

How much CBD oil should I be taking? +

The dosage of CBD oil is dependent your age, weight, and the ailment or dis-ease you are treating. Please refer to our protocol packs, or contact us for further advice.

Is it safe to drive when using CBD oil? +

Since CBD does not have a psychoactive effect, we believe that is perfectly safe to drive while taking CBD oil.

Is it safe to be using CBD oil whilst taking other medications? +

Whilst we believe that CBD is a safe and effective product, we are not qualified to say how it may react with medications prescribed by doctors. There is some research to suggest that CBD may interfere with an enzyme found in your liver known as cytochrome p450 which could potentially interfere with the metabolism of certain prescribed drugs. We suggest you seek medical advice if you have any concerns before commencing treatment.

Why is important to alkalise my body? +

Alternative medicine practitioners have long recognised the importance of maintaining a balance between acidity and alkalinity in the body. In short, acid-alkaline balance refers to the balance between the amount of acids and non-acids (alkalis) that are secreted in your body’s fluids (blood, saliva, and urine) and tissues. The body thrives when it is in a slightly alkaline state and has a pH of 7.4. It is important that the pH remains as close to that reading as possible, if the body is to acidic or to alkaline, dis-ease may occur. It is important to note that dis-ease mainly develops in people who have higher rates of acidity, and this seems particularly true for people diagnosed with cancer. Over-acidity may change the environment in a person’s bloodstream leading to depleted oxygen levels, and may lead to unhealthy microorganisms such as cancer cells and tumors to occur.

How can I increase the alkalinity in my body? +

You can support the alkalinity of the body through diet, and stress management. Green leafy vegetables seem to be the most alkalise forming food you can consume. Taking a spoonful of wheatgrass or spirulina mixed with water is another excellent way to alkalise. Reducing refined grains and sugars may also help to maintain good acid-alkaline balance. Plant based proteins seems to have far less acidic effect than animal based protein, and good choices include beans and pulses. Dairy products seem to increase acidity in the body, so again we suggest consuming plant based alternatives. Lots of evidence suggests that Apple cider vinegar is another great product to decrease acidity.

What is a “detox” and why is it important? +

A “detox” can refer to a diet, cleanse or even a fast with the aim of abstaining from the consumption of harmful substances and toxins for a certain time to help your body excrete harmful substances. Under proper supervision and guidance, detox can strengthen your immune system, help you to lose weight, and increase your ability to overcome certain illnesses such as cancer.
